Choose your workflow
Use Local / City scope in Rank Tracker to check the same website and keywords in different cities. Keep the engine and device consistent so you can compare markets.
Use Local Heatmap to check a grid around a selected address. Each point represents its own search location, helping you find areas where visibility changes.
In Local Heatmap, Google checks organic website rankings. Google Local checks local pack and map results. Select the view relevant to the visibility you want to investigate.
Open the captured results when your target has no reported position. Confirm the domain, including any www variation, and check the report settings before drawing a conclusion.
How to start
Before you start
A local report represents the search location, engine, device and keyword selected for that check. A national report, a named city and a point near your business answer different questions. Compare reports with consistent settings.
Choose city tracking to compare named markets. Choose Local Heatmap to explore several nearby points around a geographic centre. Start with a 3 × 3 grid and one keyword, then expand when you need more coverage.
